TRAVEL INFORMATION

Aveiro is located between two international airports (Porto at 70 km and Lisbon at 260 km) and is connected to both airports by highway and railway networks. The highway network permits easy access to Aveiro by car from both Porto and Lisbon airports. Travelling by train from the airport is the best option. Metro and Intercity Alfa Pendular trains have information in both Portuguese and English.

From Porto:

You can take a direct metro connection from the Oporto airport to the Campanhã Railway Station (http://www.metrodoporto.pt/). There you can choose between fast trains (Alfa Pendular - 30 min; or Regular Intercity, 40 min) or slower trains (Urban or Regional trains, 50 min). From Lisbon:

You can take a taxi from airport to Oriente Railway Station (10 min.; less than 10 euros) and then take the fast trains to Aveiro (Alfa Pendular 2 hours; or Regular Intercity trains, 2 hours 30 min); see the timetables here: www.cp.pt. Alfa Pendular trains are faster and more comfortable.

When you arrive at the Aveiro railway station, walk or take a taxi to your hotel or the University (5 minutes).

The organizing committee recommends the following hotels for which special conditions have been arranged with. Please use the code “16_ICA_2015” when making your room reservation (our used otherwise specified in the table below).  All prices are per night and include VAT.

Please book your accommodation as soon as possible, as special conditions are available for a limited number of rooms in each hotel.

A limited number of rooms are available at the residence halls of the University of Aveiro. These are reserved (upon request) for students and early stage researchers who need support for accommodation costs.
